Boiler explosion kills two

In a month already littered with boiler explosions, India was the latest to fall victim. Two workers, including a woman, were killed and four other workers sustained serious injuries in an explosion at a textile processing and calendering factory located in Sathyamangalam.
Calendering and processing were being undertaken using steam at the factory located on Sathyamangalam main road near Veerappanchatram yesterday, when the steam boiler suddenly exploded, police have reported.
Boiler man Moorthy, 40, who was standing near the boiler was killed on the spot while folding worker Vani, 38, also died after being hit by the lid of the boiler.
Four other workers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.
