Powder Isolation: Dry Chemical Powder Explosion Isolation System: Lockable Safe PC Friendly Addressable Self Monitoring

ATEX Dry Chemical or Hot Water Isolation Systems provide an effective means of isolating the flame front growth of an advancing deflagration. With the same features as an ATEX Suppression system they suppress the advancing flame front and mitigate the advancing pressure wave.

Features

  • High efficiency explosion Isolation system.
  • New high-speed gas generator actuated release valve removes the need for explosively initiated rupture discs.
  • Full actuator redundancy doubles your integrity level.
  • Lockable valve acts as simple arm/disarm mechanism.
  • Discharged systems can be refilled on-site.
  • Safe and non-toxic, compatible with a wide range of processes.
  • Can be used inside all plant areas regardless of ventilation.
  • Full system monitoring.

Available Options

  • Available in two sizes.
  • Standard vertical process entry or horizontal with mounting elbow.
  • Range of nozzles for different applications.
  • Process entry seals up to pharmaceutical standard.
  • Included as standard:
  • pressure switch in suppressor bottle.
  • proximity switch indicates position of arm/disarm lock.
  • support bracket for bottle.

Concept and Operation

When the Isolation device receives a 'fired' signal from a control system and/or sensor it fires the gas generators, releasing the valve. Extinguishing chemical is then discharged under 60bar pressure into the protected plant.

This is the first system to address the high cost and supervision requirements of traditional systems. Compared to previous systems which employ complex monitoring and actuation devices, the ATEX Powder Isolation system comprises simply a valve and two gas generators. This makes for high reliability and low maintenance. The dual gas generator valve actuator provides redundancy for added safety. Another major benefit, on-site refurbishment dramatically reduces downtime after a device(s) discharge.
